Welcome to the DAP Families WebsiteWelcome to The DAP Families Website!! Join the discussion! Join the DAP Families online email group. It's an easy way to stay connected with other parents and get great real-life advice. Click HERE to join. ![]() A new school year is upon us and there are many changes happening at DAP. A new administrative position has been created and our statewide director has resigned his post. Parent involvement will be more critical than ever. We have to stand strong and stand together to make our program the best it can be for our children and all of the children that will come after them. The PAC meeting schedule for the entire year is listed below. Speakers for the first 3 meetings are scheduled and the others are in progress. Please mark these dates on your calendar and plan to attend. The issues our program faces can only be resolved if they are addressed with our aministrators who are present at each and every meeting. There are other reasons to come to a PAC meeting, however. There's not always a negative issue to discuss. You can meet parents with children in your child's class or at least within their age range. You can gain valuable knowledge from experienced parents who have been through what you may be experiencing with your child. Or you just may need to have an adult conversation after a summer of talking in the language of "autism" with your child. The first meeting will be an exciting one. We are combining efforts with ASD (formerly known as the Autism Society of Delaware). Brennen School Principal, Dr. John Dewey will speak first about the program in general, staffing issues and changes at DAP. Once PAC business has concluded, the ASD meeting will begin. Rob Gilsdorf, President of ASD will talk about the organization and the changes it too is facing. As always, childcare is free of charge for all students and walking siblings. You must RSVP no later than 12 noon the Monday prior to th PAC meeting so the childcare room can be properly and safely staffed. See you at the first meeting!! *Please note that you do not have to be an ASD member to attend this meeting |
